Kitchen/Café Manager – Job Description
Sandhill Crane Vineyards is a small family-owned and operated winery and café in rural Jackson county. We are currently looking for a full-time Kitchen Manager who is highly organized, has food service experience, and enjoys working with people.
Supervise kitchen/café staff including setting up work schedules and working with your supervisor to hire staff
Supervise daily activities of kitchen staff including: working with customers, prep work, cleaning, equipment maintenance, preparing foods for private & public parties, food safety training
Supervise kitchen during parties as needed
Ensure that company standards of food preparation and customer service are upheld
Show leadership for the kitchen/café team: rallying them during heavy shifts, resolving conflicts, and getting the job done
Set up and maintain standards for food costs
Order food and supplies, pick up orders as needed, receive orders
Ensure that the kitchen and café are clean at all times. This includes deep cleaning on a regular schedule.
Constantly work with café staff to retain a positive working environment
Organize all aspects of the kitchen and café and maintain that organization
Ensure that the kitchen itself and all staff members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
Monitor food waste and inventory levels, and resolve food quality issues
Full time position. Managerial and kitchen experience helpful. Salary negotiable.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
The customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is sometimes performed under temperature extremes and under conditions with exposure to risk of injury.

Tasting Room Staff
We are looking for someone who loves interacting with people, enjoys wine, and works well within a team structure.
Hours fluctuate but are mostly weekends with the possibility of some weekdays especially during the busy times.
