Visiting Information:

How do you go about wine tasting? Just drop in during our open hours and we’ll take it from there. Our tasting fee is $6 — this fee covers 8 samples of our wines in stock except our premium wines. For $9 you can keep your tasting glass.

Bringing a group? We’d love to help you celebrate your special occasion! For groups of 6 or more we ask that you place a small group reservation with us at least 24 hours in advance and plan on arriving before 4:30 pm on the day of your visit. This will allow us to make sure that we have adequate tasting room staff on hand and reserve one or more tables for your group.

If your group is 13 people or more and wish to order lunch, we require that you work with Margaret to order with at least two weeks advance notice. Call 517.764.0679 for more information.

All group sizes subject to a preselected tasting menu.

Interested in a tour? We offer tours every Saturday at noon and Sunday at 1 pm. If you’d like to schedule a tour outside of these times, please call at least 24 hours in advance and we will set something up for your group!

Looking for a specific wine? We recommend calling ahead before your trip to make sure we have the wine you want in stock. Since we make wines in such small batches, we can’t guarantee that we will have a specific wine in stock at a given time. Or you can click here to view our current wine list.

We’ve got games! Looking for a fun way to spend the afternoon? We’ve got a stack of new and vintage board games…. just bring some friends, add a little wine and/or lunch, and you’ve got the makings for a perfect afternoon at the winery…. Just check in at the cafe counter for more information.

Dexter Cider Mill Tasting Room

The Dexter Cider Mill and our tasting room are open every year just during apple season — from late August through late November.
(The winery in Jackson is open year ’round.)

Every year as the summer winds down and the early apples are ripe, we open our tasting room inside the Dexter Cider Mill. The cider mill, located at 3685 Central Street, is the Dexter Tasting Roomoldest continuously operating cider mill in Michigan.

Our cozy tasting room features the same tasting list as the winery in Jackson – you are welcome to visit, taste, and purchase any of our wines.

The cider mill is an annual draw for SE Michigan residents and visitors. They make the cider the same way they’ve always done, with an antique oak press using 3-5 varieties of locally grown apples. The result is a rich, complex, and delicious apple cider. Also for sale are freshly made treats such as donuts, apple bread, and caramel apples.

Normal Dexter tasting room hours: Friday & Saturday 11-4:30 (open ‘til 5:30 on Saturdays in October), Sunday 12-4:30

NOTE: The tasting room will only be open Saturday 11/15, Sunday 11/16, Saturday 11/22 and Sunday 11/23 for the close of the 2014 season. Saturday hours are 11 am – 5 pm, and Sundays are 12 pm – 5 pm.
