Shelby Township and Royal Oak,
MBTB Tasting Room in Shelby Township unites the founders of Michigan by the Bottle with six Michigan wineries to bring a taste of the state’s far-flung wine trails to metro Detroit. The focus is on high-quality wines produced by the six partner wineries – Chateau Aeronautique, Chateau de Leelanau, Domaine Berrien Cellars, Gill’s Pier Vineyard & Winery, Peninsula Cellars and of course Sandhill Crane Vineyards – using estate-grown and/or locally sourced grapes. The Royal Oak location features the same six wineries and adds two new wineries, 2 Lads and Verterra. We aim to make wine fun and accessible to all, from the causal consumer to the avid aficionado, from seasoned travelers of Michigan’s wine trails to those experiencing what the state has to offer for the very first time.
With representation from all four of Michigan’s major wine trails, the MBTB Tasting Rooms offer a close-to-home way to experience wine from throughout the state in a warm, welcoming environment – not an impersonal bar or a sterile supermarket aisle. Our tastes come in flights of varying sizes, allowing our guests to take their time as they find new favorites and rediscover existing ones. Because we suspect you’ll often be sipping wine with food at home, our larger tasting flights come with cheese and chocolate to enhance the experience. We’re proud to further support the state by incorporating products from Michigan-based producers like Cowslip Creamery, Mindo Chocolate Makers and Champagne Chocolates. And because we want to ensure our visitors are tasting the grapes, not the glass, we serve all of our flights infull-size, high-quality Riedel stemware.
